Workshop Overview
This advanced clinical training is designed for child therapists and clinical supervisors who already possess foundational knowledge of child sexual abuse (CSA). Rather than reviewing introductory concepts, the training focuses on complex clinical decision-making, trauma-informed assessment, documentation practices, multidisciplinary collaboration, supervisory responsibilities, evidence-based treatment approaches, and strategies for addressing vicarious trauma. Participants will strengthen their ability to respond confidently to nuanced CSA cases while enhancing clinical judgment, legal and ethical decision-making, and supervisory effectiveness.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this training, participants will be able to:
Apply developmentally informed clinical reasoning to distinguish ambiguous or atypical presentations of possible child sexual abuse.
Analyze factors that influence disclosure, including recantation, cultural and linguistic considerations, and neurodivergence, to guide clinical decision-making.
Implement trauma-informed interviewing and documentation practices that support multidisciplinary collaboration and clinical integrity.
Differentiate supervisory responsibilities, liability considerations, and case-escalation protocols when supporting clinicians managing child sexual abuse cases.
Integrate evidence-based trauma-focused interventions, including play therapy strategies, into treatment planning for children affected by sexual abuse.
Recognize signs of vicarious trauma and implement strategies to support clinician resilience and effective supervision

If you have registered but are unable to attend a scheduled course, please notify The Community Reach, LLC – Approved Provider for the Association for Play Therapy as soon as possible by emailing training@thecommunityreach.org.
Refund Policy
Full Refund Minus 20% Service Fee: Cancellations received at least 14 calendar days before the course start date are eligible for a refund of fees less a 20% service charge.
50% Refund: Cancellations received between 13 and 5 calendar days before the course start date will be refunded 50% of the course fee.
No Refund: Cancellations received within 4 calendar days or less of the course start date will be non-refundable.
Substitutions
Name changes or participant substitutions are accepted at any time prior to the course start date at no additional charge.
Course Cancellation by The Community Reach, LLC
The Community Reach, LLC reserves the right to cancel any course due to insufficient enrollment.
Participants will be notified of cancellations no later than 7 business days prior to the scheduled course start date.
In the event of a cancellation, any prepaid registration fees will be fully refunded.
