Workshop Overview
This training provides an in-depth introduction to Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT), focusing on developing the foundational skills that make play therapy effective. Participants will engage in hands-on learning to strengthen their ability to attune to children, support emotional expression, foster autonomy and self-confidence, and create a safe, structured play environment. Through guided practice and reflection, you’ll build the competencies needed to facilitate meaningful, empowering play experiences that promote growth and resilience in children.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this training, participants will be able to:
Define the core principles and philosophy of Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT).
Demonstrate how to observe and follow the child’s lead in play without imposing direction.
Identify opportunities to reflect feelings to promote emotional awareness and regulation.
Develop strategies to enhance self-confidence and autonomy in play sessions.
Demonstrate ways to offer choices that foster autonomy and responsibility.
Practice limit-setting to establish clear, consistent, and empathetic boundaries in the playroom.

1:00-2:15pm: Core Skills and Practice

If you have registered but are unable to attend a scheduled course, please notify The Community Reach, LLC – Approved Provider for the Association for Play Therapy as soon as possible by emailing training@thecommunityreach.org.
Refund Policy
Full Refund Minus 20% Service Fee: Cancellations received at least 14 calendar days before the course start date are eligible for a refund of fees less a 20% service charge.
50% Refund: Cancellations received between 13 and 5 calendar days before the course start date will be refunded 50% of the course fee.
No Refund: Cancellations received within 4 calendar days or less of the course start date will be non-refundable.
Substitutions
Name changes or participant substitutions are accepted at any time prior to the course start date at no additional charge.
Course Cancellation by The Community Reach, LLC
The Community Reach, LLC reserves the right to cancel any course due to insufficient enrollment.
Participants will be notified of cancellations no later than 7 business days prior to the scheduled course start date.
In the event of a cancellation, any prepaid registration fees will be fully refunded.
