Workshop Overview
This training explores how integrating sensory awareness into play therapy can enhance emotional expression, regulation, and coping for children. Participants will gain practical skills for selecting and using sensory tools in the playroom, designing creative interventions, and partnering with caregivers to support sensory needs beyond the session. Through hands-on activities and discussion, clinicians will learn to harness the power of sensory play to deepen engagement and strengthen therapeutic outcomes.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this training, participants will be able to:
Explain how sensory play activates the Therapeutic Powers of Play in play therapy.
Identify five sensory tools used in play therapy.
Demonstrate two sensory-based play therapy interventions.
Develop play therapy strategies for caregiver collaboration around sensory needs.
