Workshop Overview
This training gives therapists practical tools for bringing whole families into the play therapy process with confidence and intention. Participants will explore when family involvement is most effective, learn how to navigate common caregiver challenges, and practice playful, connection-building interventions that boost communication and emotional expression. Through hands-on activities and clear guidance, this workshop helps clinicians create meaningful, relationship-strengthening play experiences for families.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this training, participants will be able to:
Identify core principles of family play therapy.
Identify indicators for involving families in play therapy.
Explain strategies for addressing caregiver hesitation in play therapy.
Demonstrate three family play therapy interventions.
